Camp Orientation

Camp Orientation

Welcome

Hi everyone! Welcome to your Camp TOC orientation!  I’m Christie, one of the co-founders of Tails of Connection, and for three weeks, I’ll be your camp director. I am so excited you are here! This is going to be a fun three weeks! Before we get started, I want to walk you through some important information to help you make the most of your time at camp.

Where Do I Go for Camp TOC?

You are watching this video on the Camp TOC schedule page, which has all of the camp content on it. Feel free to bookmark this page to make your life easier or note that you can always come back to this text to find the link!

You will be able to access all of the Camp TOC content as soon as you purchase it, but if you want to wait to do Camp TOC live, we will begin on July 17, 2023. If you purchased Camp TOC and still cannot access the content, make sure that you complete registration (look for a welcome email from Tails of Connection after you purchase Camp TOC) and login.

Take a look at our Camp TOC navigation guide on our @tailsofconnection Instagram story highlight here.

Join Our Community!

Community is a big part of Camp TOC and our vision for Tails of Connection. I am constantly learning from friends like you and am reminded that I am not alone in my training journey.

You can join our TOC community by following us on Instagram and Facebook and tagging us in any camp content you share. We also created some fun GIFs for you to use on Instagram (just search “tails of connection” or “camp toc” to find them).

How Is Camp Setup?

Camp is divided into three weeks. Each week, we’ll give you activities to do in all five of our camp categories: sports, bonding, outdoor living, theater, and art. If you scroll down on this camp schedule page, you will see that all of the video activities are listed out under each week. You can do the vast majority of camp with items you likely have at home, but check out this list and video we made of some things you may want to gather for camp.

In addition to all of the fun activities during Camp TOC, there are also a couple of community-wide spirit events. Now that camp is a self-guided e-course you can feel free to jump around and do these events whenever you want. If you want to follow Camp TOC tradition (especially during the live May window), in week one of your time at camp, join our scavenger hunt with your dog. You’ll be able to download a little digital scavenger hunt card, tick off activities you have done, and share your progress on social media. In week two (according to the official camp calendar!), you can start the Camp TOC color wars, which last until the end of camp. Participation is totally optional, and all dogs win!

Have Fun and Go at Your Own Pace!

Even though Camp lasts for three weeks, we know that dogs and humans learn at different paces and life can be hectic, so please go at whatever pace suits you. You will still have access to all of our camp content after Camp TOC ends. The main goal here is to have fun with your dog.

Need Some Extra Help?

We are also so thrilled to root for you and your dog during camp!
