Intro: What Is Challenge 2.0?!

Welcome to Challenge 2.0! We’re so glad you’re here. Before you dive into the course, please take a moment to watch/read this brief intro to learn about our hope for the course, how it works, and what you need to get started.

Our Hope for the Course

We hope that this course provides a low pressure way for you to have fun connecting with your dog and learning training skills that will be useful for you and your dog long after this challenge is over. Rather than focusing on just one topic, we cover a range of topics to keep things fun and interesting. We do build on some skills throughout the course to help you get to the point that it becomes more helpful for you IRL. Our focus throughout the course is on conversational training. Whether it’s in the numerous cooperative care activities or just a simple trick, we highlight how every single step in your training is an opportunity for your dog to communicate something to you – and an opportunity for you to listen and adjust. For 14 days, we take care of the “what should I do with my dog,” so you just get to show up and have fun together!

How It Works

Challenge 2.0 Is Divided Into 14 Days.

The course is divided into 14 days with an invitation (& tutorial) to do a new activity with your dog each day. The days are a way for us to divide the content up in a simple way and not meant to make you feel like you can only spend one day on each activity. If you are doing Challenge 2.0 during a special live run,, we will spend one day on each daily activity and move on - completing the full course in 14 days. At all other times, the course is fully self-guided. Either way, you are always invited and encouraged to go at your own pace. You retain access to the course, so you can always come back to it.

Each Day Is Divided Into Five Sections

Because we believe in handing over control, we divided each day into five 5 short videos, so you can move around and revisit certain sections based on whatever information you are looking for. The “How To” and “Shake It Up” sections will both contain video demos. They’ll be variations (and sometimes progressions) of that day’s theme. You can always shake it up your way and modify the activity to suit your dog and goals.

  • Intro: This video gives you a quick overview of what you’ll do that day.

  • How-To: This is the “main” video with a demo and instructions explaining how to do the training activity.

  • Shake it up: This is another demo video with an alternative activity option for the day. In some cases, it’s a progression on that day’s How To, but sometimes it’s also just a different activity option.

  • Perks: This video tells you about some of the benefits you may experience by doing these activities.

  • Challenge: This is a short recap of what the how-to and shake-it-up were for the day.

Each Section Has a Video & Written Text

Each of these sections has a video and written text, so hopefully you’ll find a way to learn that suits you. If you want to skim the intro text rather than watching the video and going straight to the how-to video, go for it! It’s your course! (P.S. the videos all have closed captions, so please know you can turn those on if it helps you.)

The written text in the How-To and Shake It Up videos will follow a consistent format:

Hopefully this makes the text more skimmable and allows you to jump to the section you need.
